Do not buy based on the first-year promotional cost
A camera kept for four years can accumulate more subscription cost than its hardware price. If a plan is essential to your use case, add it to the purchase decision from day one.
Privacy and storage are part of the tradeoff
Cloud features can add convenience, but some owners prefer local recording. Review the manufacturer's current privacy and retention policies before placing any internet-connected camera inside the home.
